Buckland
International Education Group (BIEG) is based in the small city
of Yangshuo, near Guilin, Guangxi Province in the south of China.
BIEG is an independent licensed education and culture organization
that focus on promoting bilingual education in elementary and
middle schools in China. Buckland Group also owns English &
Chinese Language Schools which specializes in English, Mandarin
& Chinese Culture; TESOL training courses as well as training
for foreign and Chinese English Teachers. |

BIEG functions
as a bridge for cultural exchanges between Chinese schools
and native English teachers. Its primary objective is in the
recruitment and placement of foreign English teachers throughout
China. With currently over Sixty-four franchise schools seeking
qualified foreign teachers BIEG works to assists teachers
with cross-culture employment. There are always more than
150 EFL teachers teaching in China with Buckland every year.
We help TEFL/ TESOL teachers by taking care of important issues
like visas, food, accommodation, salary, medical care, living
expenses, teacher training and introductory language lessons.
BEIG has
also help schools in China set up exchange programs with schools
outside of China and has helped place qualified Chinese teachers
in schools in other countries.

Owen Buckland - President/Teacher Trainer
The founder of Buckland Group and Vice-Chairman of China
Bilingual Education Association, Owen Buckland, has
been an English and Chinese culture instructor for 18
years. After owning a language school and translation
company, he established Buckland in 1993. Since that
time he has developed the company into one of the largest
and most respected foreign teacher placement agencies
in China. He is constantly utilizing his vast resources
and experience to ensure all Buckland teachers living
and teaching in China are happy and safe. Owen has created
a unique English teaching and learning method called
F.A.C.E.S. and gives motivational lectures to thousands

Betts Mackenzie - Professor/Teacher Trainer
Betts is a college instructor from Canada. She has been
teaching English in China for 4 years and loves every
minute of it. As the principal teacher trainer she orients
new Western Teachers to the Chinese Education System,
writes training manuals and provides continuous support
and advice to all our foreign teachers. The TESOL orientation
program includes lesson planning, EFL activities and
classroom management. Betts also instructs Chinese English
Teachers in Western Teaching Methods and does research
in bilingual teaching methods

Ping Wang - Teacher Trainer
Holding a master degree in TESOL from SUNY New Paltz
in America and having ESL teaching experiences in both
of China and America, Ping will answer your questions
regarding teaching in China and assist you in your transition
to a Chinese culture with her enthusiasm, professionalism
and cross-cultural living experiences.

Laurie Mackenzie - Professor/Volunteer
Program Director
Laurie has taught English in Yangshuo for 2 years and
then founded the Volunteer English Teacher Program,
V.E.T., for children in the poor rural areas. By providing
an opportunity to experience other cultures through
foreign teachers and helping them improve their Oral
English, these young students learn will have a much
better chance to get a job in the growing tourism industry.

Lisa Lee - QA Manager
A highly respected educator and high school principal
for 20 years, Lisa, oversees the quality of the schools
and the professional ability of teachers working in
our franchise schools. She takes regular trips to our
southern franchise schools to inspect the schools and
assist them and the foreign teacher in any way she can
help.

Jennifer Buckland - Recruitment
Manager
Jennifer has been working with Owen to develop the Buckland
Group since 1999. She takes care of all aspects of recruitment
and will be the one replying to most of your questions
about teaching English in China. Jennifer also coordinates
visas and the placement of our foreign teachers in the
schools.

Sophie - Receptionist
and Assistant
Sophie will meet and greet you when you arrive in Yangshuo
or Guilin. She is always friendly with sweet smile and
make you feel at home, showing you around Yangshuo, giving
a help in the affairs of going to the post office, bank
and shopping etc. |

Cristina - Office Clerk
Cristina collects and coordinates all the paper work for
the visa application and insuranceS, and files the documents
in order.
