150 Full Time Native English Teachers Wanted in 2008, 5 or 11 months
contract are accepted starting from August 2008.
We are looking for native English speakers, preferably from USA,
Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand. No other qualifications
are necessary, but it is preferable to have one or more of the following:
university degree/ university student, teaching degree, teaching
experience, and English as a second language teaching certificates
such as ESL, EFL, TEFL, and TESOL certificates. We also ask that
you be under 60 years of age and in good health.
Job Responsibilities
Buckland positions require a maximum of 15 teaching hours per week.
Some schools also require that you participate in English corner
(free talk and games) for two hours per week in the evenings. You
may also occasionally be asked to join in special celebrations and/or
promotional activities.
Benefits
- Contract Benefits:
1. Monthly, after tax, salary of 4000 to 6000 Yuan RMB within 15
teaching (20 teaching periods X 45 minutes each teaching period)
a week from Monday to Friday. 100 Yuan for per extra hour.
2. International Airfare allowance of 4000 to 10000 Yuan RMB depended
on contract length (4000 for half school year contract, 8000-10000
for one school year. Reimbursed at the completion of contract.)
3. 2200 RMB travel bonus for completion of full academic year contract.

4. Up to 200 RMB per month utilities allowance.
5. Up to 15 days consecutive paid sick leave with note from doctor.
6. Paid public holidays, plus(for one school year contract) 30 consecutive
days paid vacation.
7. Every teacher is given a private apartment complete with utilities
(phone, air conditioner, stove, refrigerator, water heater, etc.).

8. Minor medical treatment is provided free of charge in the
school clinic as provided to local teachers.
9. Free weekly Chinese language classes.
10. Free Orientation which covers awareness and preparation for
culture shock and possible problems, and brief training courses
for teaching Chinese students. (Free accommodation is provided during
the teachers take this orientation in Yangshuo)
11. Residence Permit and Visa expenses covered.
12. Free use of bicycle.

1. Full time 24 hours support.
2. Official letter of invitation and sponsorship for visas and permits.
4. Local sightseeing tour during vacations.
5. Pick-up at Guilin airport.
Food
Most schools have a cafeteria which is usually free for employees.
Some may charge 3-5 RMB per meal. Meals outside the school normally
run from 5-10 RMB per person. Prices vary widely by location. Your
salary allotment takes this into account.
You will have a kitchen in your apartment which will allow you
to cook for yourself also.
You are likely to find that students and their parents or other
teachers will often invite you to their own homes to eat.
